The i9040 uses a 9V battery so that your home is protected even if there is a power outage. It is also very easy to install and it comes with a test button through which you can check if it is working and receiving power. It is a single station alarm that will provide you with the early warning that you and your loved ones need in case of a fire. The device is UL certified and comes with a three year limited warranty as standard.
Because the Fire Sentry i9040 uses an ionization sensor, it is particularly good at detecting flaming fires, which have invisible fire particles. A photoelectric alarm, by contrast, is designed to quickly detect smoldering fires, which have visible fire particles. It is for this reason that you may want to consider having both types of smoke alarms in your property to provide maximum protection for yourself and your loved ones.
