Kankakee man charged with home invasion after removing air conditioning unit

A 22-year-old Kankakee man is charged with home invasion and residential burglary after removing an air conditioning unit to enter a residence Monday morning.

Jose R. Mendoza was taken to Riverside Medical Center for examination, and was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center to await a pretrial detention hearing.

Kankakee police responded to a call of disorderly conduct at 200 N. Greenwood Ave. at 4:49 a.m. Monday, according to the police report.
